MPs must turn up on Thursday 2nd July – Email them TODAY
On Thursday 2 July, MPs will debate Commonhold and Leasehold Reform and the regulation of property managing agents in the House of Commons. The debate has been secured by Florence Eshalomi MP, Chair of the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee, following the Committee’s scrutiny of the Government’s draft Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Bill.

This is not just another Westminster debate. It is a chance for Parliament to show millions of leaseholders that their voices are being heard.
The Committee’s report concluded that while the draft Bill is a significant step forward, the Government must go further and faster to deliver meaningful reform. It called for stronger action on ground rents, greater homeowner control, an independent regulator for managing agents, and a faster transition away from leasehold.
For too many leaseholders, homeownership has become a nightmare of rising charges, lack of control, and homes that are difficult to sell. Many have already waited years for promises to become reality.
That’s why attendance matters.
Every MP has constituents affected by leasehold, estate charges, or poor property management. A packed chamber would send a powerful message that Parliament is serious about ending these injustices. An empty one would send the opposite.
This debate is an opportunity to push for the reforms that leaseholders have spent years campaigning for and that Parliament itself has repeatedly promised.
