ITS THE FINAL FEW DAYS TO GET YOUR SUBMISSIONS IN FOR THE GOVERNMENTS GROUND RENT CONSULTATION – AIMED AT EXISTING LEASEHOLDERS

THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR THEIR PROFITS, WE ARE FIGHTING FOR OUR HOMES

So far ZERO has changed for EXISTING Leaseholders, reducing EXISTING Ground Rents to a Peppercorn (essentially ZERO) is the ONLY way to realign OLD Leaseholders with NEW Leaseholders (who are fortunate to benefit from the Ground Rent Act 2022).

THE CONSULTATION CLOSES NEXT WEDNESDAY 17TH JAN

We appreciate Leaseholders are fed up of filling in consultation after consultation but DO NOT GIVE UP ! The consultation may look difficult to complete but we have provided step by step guidance for NLC members that you may find helpful. We get asked a lot if this will help existing leaseholders…….. YES IT WILL ! All we need is just 30 minutes of your time.

The freeholder lobbying groups such as the Residential Freehold Association (RFA) are so desperate, claiming the government are at risk of creating “Zombie Buildings”, reducing Ground Rents to a Peppercorn is “Government Theft” and continue to quote statistics from their biased Savanta Report which they commissioned in 2020 – We are yet to meet a Leaseholder that actually completed their leaseholder survey (out of almost 29,000 members on Facebook),

The National Leasehold Campaign had a really positive meeting with SOS Michael Gove on 11th December just before the 2nd reading of the Leasehold and Freehold Bill. Michael Gove also believes the right answer to the consultation is A PEPPERCORN. He advised NLC mobilises as many leaseholders as possible to complete the consultation. He is well aware the professional lobbying groups are working hard, and no doubt will produce fancy reports and manipulated stats.

THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR THEIR PROFITS, WE ARE FIGHTING FOR OUR HOMES !!! LET PEOPLE POWER WIN !!!!

The debate was very lively, you can read a transcript of the 2nd Reading HERE

”Β I also thank the campaigners, some of whom I had a chance to talk to earlier, who have been indefatigable in making it clear that the law needs to change. I thank, in particular, Katie Kendrick, Cath Williams and Joanne Darbyshire, all of whom have made an impeccable case for change throughout”

SOS Michael Gove :
Leasehold and Freehold Reform Bill
Volume 742: debated on Monday 11 December 2023

SO DON’T GIVE UP PLEASE HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD. THE ONLY ANSWER YOU NEED TO GIVE IS A PEPPERCORN !!
